There will be a Headteachers' Talk for all attendees at 5.30pm in the Main Hall followed by two ‘Making your Application’ talks - 6.00pm and 6.30pm.  You will only need to attend one of the ‘Making your Application’ sessions. Attending one of our Open Day Events is a great way for you and your family to learn more about our College and the courses we have available for you. 

At our Open Days, you will have the opportunity to:

• Meet our current students
• Speak to our teachers and staff

Our Open Mornings start at 9am and finish at 10.30am. Tours begin promptly at 9.15am and any visitor/s that do not arrive on time for the tour start at 9.15am, cannot be guaranteed a tour allocation. Our Principal's Welcome follows on from the tour, and ends at 10.30am.

WEST CUMBRIA CATHOLIC SIXTH FORM TASTER DAY 2025

Wednesday 25th June 2025

We extend a warm welcome to all applicants planning to join us in September. The day aims to help you decide whether our Sixth Form is right for you.

Please log into your Applicaa account and click on Taster Day on the home page (at the bottom) this will take you to the booking system where you can select the sessions you wish to attend.

The subjects are set out in option blocks and mirror the timetable for next year.

In 2024, Ernest Bevin Academy Sixth Form students secured places at prestigious Russell Group universities including Kings College London, Queen Mary's University of London and St George’s University Hospital. Performance was particularly strong in our flagship subjects of the sciences, maths, computer science and engineering.

Ernest Bevin Sixth Form welcomes young men and women from all over London, our Sixth Form Open Evening is an opportunity to come and explore our Sixth Form Centre, meet our subject experts, and chat to our students.

Just a 10 minute walk from Tooting Bec station, we offer a range of A Level, T-Level and vocational courses, plus excellent sports facilities.

All Year 10 & 11 students currently attending Ernest Bevin Academy are expected to attend, external students are also most welcome. Parents and carers are also strongly encouraged to attend.

Students are invited to attend the virtual transition day on Thursday 26th June, providing teaching staff with an opportunity to meet virtually with students who are hoping to take their subject at A-Level and outline the expectations, as well as deliver the transition materials. 

The timetable for the day will be available before too long and will include links to the virtual sessions. The day will start at 9am with a welcome from Ms Ganachaud, Director of Sixth Form. The timetable has been put together to allow students to attend one 25-minute TEAMS session for each of their three or four chosen A-Level subjects. All students are advised to attend the EPQ and Alternative Options session at the end of the day, even if they are planning to take four A-Levels.

To help students make the transition from Year 11 to Year 12, academic staff have created a suite of resources that link to each A-level. A link to access this bridging work will be sent to students mid-June. Students are advised to look at the bridging work before attending the transition day as these sessions will be their opportunity to ask any questions they have before the school closes for the summer holidays. 

Current BHS students will only to able to join the TEAMS sessions using their BHS school email address. Applicants from other schools will need to use the email address provided on their application.
