We’re thrilled to invite prospective students and parents to our Open Event on Wednesday 9th October 2024, from 5 PM - 8 PM. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to explore our outstanding, state-of-the-art facilities in action!

🔹 What to Expect:

• Individual Tours led by our current students, giving you a first-hand experience of life at Global Academy.
• A chance to hear from our Principal, James Murray-Walsh, about his exciting plans for the future of vocational education and how we're paving the way to be the best in the country.

🔹 When Can You Join Us?

• Year 10: Study your core GCSEs alongside a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media.
• Year 12: Dive into your Sixth Form experience with a Level 3 Diploma in a variety of creative courses.
• Year 14: Take your skills further with a Level 4 Diploma in Creative Enterprise, a free alternative to university, focused on preparing you for success in the industry.

Welcome to the Sixth Form Open Evening!

This is a great opportunity to see the school, hear from the Sixth Form Team, meet our staff and of course, pick up a free goodie box! Each year we are thrilled to welcome prospective students and their families to learn more about what East Barnet School can offer you. Whether your pathway after 16-18 education is university, an apprenticeship, employment, a vocational course or even a gap year, we can equip you with the skills to succeed.

When you arrive for our Open Evening, you will be checked in by our friendly staff (make sure you have your ticket QR code), receive your pack and head down to hear from the Sixth Form Team. You are then free to explore! Roam around the school and meet current students, join a tour, learn more about the subjects you are most interested in, or have a chat with the EBS Team. Should you have any questions at all (or if you get lost), we will all be on hand to assist.

The evening will end at 19:45, but should you need any more information after the event, we are more than happy to hear from you!

This is fantastic opportunity to ‘taste’ different subjects. We particularly recommend you go to the taster sessions of subjects you are deciding between and/or new subjects you haven't studied before to help you make the right decisions. 

By the end of the day you will know what you can expect from LaSWAP and what will be expected of you.

We would like to invite you to join us at our Welcome Event on Tuesday 9th July 2024, commencing at 1.30 p.m.

We are excited to invite you to our Year 12 Induction Day on Monday 23rd June 2025. 

This day is an important part of our induction process, designed to help you get a feel for our Sixth Form and to develop your understanding of what to expect as a Sixth Form student studying here. 

Throughout the day, you will attend lessons in your chosen subjects and take part in pastoral sessions. There will also be opportunities to ask questions, meet other prospective students, discover our enrichment offer and visit the Sixth Form study spaces.  

Please confirm your attendance by visiting the Applicaa account you used to apply for our Sixth Form and ”Register” for the event in the bottom right corner of the page by Friday 6th June 2025 at the latest. 

Lunch will be provided. 

Please may we also remind you to ‘Accept’ your conditional offer if you have not already done so. This ensures you have the option to join our Sixth Form in September 2024, provided you meet our standard and subject specific entry requirements in your official summer exams. You can still accept offers from other Sixth Forms or colleges before making your final Post-16 destination decision on GCSE results day in August.
