A-Level English Language

Course summary

Do you want to persuade others to always believe what you say? Do you want the words you use to be powerful? Do you want to be the master of your own verbal destiny? The study of language is technical, but studying A-Level English Language at Light Hall, will equip you with the tools you need to access a variety of texts and deconstruct how words and structure can affect meaning. As scholars of English Language, you will critically evaluate newspaper articles, political speeches, interviews, films, receipts, letters and fiction. We will explore how language has changed over time and the reason why language is changing.
