Assessment

Written Examination: Paper 1 – Technical Principles Paper 2 – Design and Make Principles Students will sit two papers at the end of the course. Paper 1 is 2 ½ hours and will be worth 30% of the final A Level. Paper 2 is 1 ½ hours and is worth 20% of the final A Level grade. The first paper will test core technical principles and core designing and making principles whilst the second paper will focus on specialist knowledge. The examinations will contribute to 50% of the A Level final grade. Mathematics and Science contribute 15% of the examination and therefore a good knowledge of these areas would be required.
