353 Vocal Techniques (Music): Students learn key techniques in using their voice for performance, applying that knowledge to one solo and one ensemble song. This is a mix of theory work, focusing on how the voice works and practical application of that knowledge. 351 Solo Music Performance: Students create a repertoire of four solo songs for performance in front of an audience. Students learn to develop a repertoire and develop confidence in performing in front of an audience. 331 Ensemble Dance (Acting students only): Students learn to work as an ensemble to perform choreographed works outside of their chosen specialism. This prepares students for audition calls and expectations within the Musical Theatre industry. 311 Audition Techniques Acting (Dance students only): Students learn key audition techniques that prepare them for industry expectations, including preparing a repertoire, working with scripts and professional expectations. 316 Musical Theatre Performance: Students develop a knowledge of Musical Theatre styles and performance techniques, perform in a musical and evaluate their personal and professional development. 305E Final Live Performance: Externally assessed unit. Students prepare a final performance for a live audience, focusing on their skills and talents. 324 Choreography: Students apply dance skills to selected works and create original choreography to fit a performance brief. Students learn to develop, deliver and refine choreography to prepare for live performances. 342 Ensemble Music Performance: Students develop ensemble performance skills, focusing on ensemble vocal work that is developed to present for a live audience. These units are completed in addition to the units completed in the student’s chosen specialism (Acting or Dance RSL).
