Course summary
Component 1: Shakespeare and drama and poetry pre-1900 One Shakespeare play; one drama text and a selection of poems from the OCR prescribed text list. Component 2: close reading of an unseen text and a comparative study of two novels which will be chosen by the teacher from: American literature 1880-1940; the Gothic; dystopia and women in literature from the OCR prescribed text list. Component 3: non-examined short close reading analysis or recreative text, plus comparative essay studying texts chosen by the student under advice from the teacher.
