Course summary
A-level Art students must not only seek to develop their own powers of perception and extend the ways in which they create visual works; they must also be prepared to engage fully with the study of Art as a form of cultural discourse and students are fully involved with developing a body of practical work, informed by art-historical and other pertinent sources. Among much else, study of Art at this level: - promotes creativity and lateral thinking; - enhances the ability to communicate through visual means; - makes pupils more technically adept - encourages pupils to analyse - makes pupils more culturally aware.
