Entry Requirements

You can join the course with advanced standing if you have previously completed a HNC/HND in Engineering or a Foundation Degree. Those taking an apprecticeship route be a new or existing member of staff within their organisation. You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week and must not already hold a degree in that subject area or be receiving funding for other training. Apprentices must meet all the core requirement of the standards. You can download the full standards from the government's website. For non-apprentices, you should be in employment in a related industry and have completed an HND in a relevant subject area. Mature applicants without the above qualifications will also be considered for entry by interview and submission of an up-to-date relevant CV. In addition they should have a letter of support from their employer and demonstrate significant knowledge gained through the work place. This group of applicants may or may not be eligible for the apprenticeship levy depending on their prior learning and background. You are expected to have a keen interest in Engineering and Engineering activities, as well as a reasonable level of competency in mathematics and science. You should be familiar with basic computer functions and applications including Microsoft Windows and Office. Parts of your programme will be delivered using Microsoft Teams. Training for this application will be provided.
