This complete grounding in the subject provides a fantastic base from which to build when they move on to higher education, employment or further training. Paper 1: Physiological factors affecting performance: (30% of total A Level) • Applied anatomy & physiology 90 marks / 2 hour paper • Exercise physiology • Biomechanics Paper 2: Psychological factors affecting performance: (20% of total A level) • Skill acquisition 60 marks / 1 hour paper • Sports psychology Paper 3: Socio-cultural issues in physical activity & sport: (20% of total A level) • Sport & society 60 marks / 1 hour paper • Contemporary issues in physical activity & sport
