Course summary

Studying law allows you to analyse different laws and determine the innocence or guilt or pirates to a crime. You will have the opportunity to debate specific issues including issues of morality and whether or not an offence is just. In the past we have been to Manchester Crown Court to practise the skills we have learnt and take part in a mock trial, acting out different roles such as judge, solicitor/barristers, witnesses and the parties to a crime. We have also had the opportunity to go to Shrewsbury Prison to take a tour around the empty prison itself and see what it is like to work as a prison officer. Studying law helps with your analytical skills as well as helping develop confidence in yourself and your ideas.
