Course summary

There are core units everyone must take, looking at the history of and theory behind performance styles. Additionally, optional units are chosen based on a negotiated agreement with teachers. Strand 1 Performing Arts: Performance Theory, Jazz Dance, Choreography, Classical Acting Performance, Variety Show, Site-specific Performance – if you have an interest in a particular option, we will try to accommodate you. Acting, dancing and singing skills will be developed. Strand 2 Dance: All practical work relates to the dancer – Healthy Dancer, Musical Theatre, Contemporary Technique – these plus those above are examples from a list that can be chosen for study and assessment
