Course summary

You will continue to develop and refine your sketchbook journey and plan and produce your final piece for your coursework project in a medium technique of your choice. In addition to your coursework sketchbook you are required to produce a 3000 word essay to accompany your coursework project. Again the theme for this essay is your own choice and it will look at the work of different artists and how they have inspired you. You will produce various observational drawings and paintings around a theme of your choice, look at the work of artists whom you find inspirational, develop your ideas for a 2D painted final piece and a 3D mixed media sculpture. You are set independent study tasks such as visiting exhibitions and galleries in order to enrich your own work as it develops.
