Assessment

The first two exams are 13 /4 hours long and each examine half of the specification. The third exam is 21 /2 hours long and can examine any aspect of the course. The third exam also includes questions designed to assess a student’s understanding of practical skills. These practical skills are also assessed throughout the course by the teacher, as students complete a series of ‘core practicals’, leading to the award of a ‘Practical Endorsement’ recorded on the final A level certificate.
