Course summary
Year 1 Students conduct three micro NEA practical projects which help to develop their practical skills and confidence. Year 2 Students will be required to undertake a substantial design and make task and produce a final prototype based on a context and design brief developed by the student. This project runs throughout the entire year and forms 50% of their final grade. Taught Theory– Runs throughout Year 1 & 2. Fashion and Textiles requires students to engage in both practical and theoretical study. This specification requires students to cover design and technology skills and knowledge, these have been separated into: technical principles and designing and making principles. Taught by an A level specialist and experienced member of staff who offers excellent advice and support for students on the course with up to date and relevant information; approachable and friendly staff are available to support students at any time. Prior to taking up a post in the teaching profession the member of staff was a fashion designer with a multi-national company.
