Course summary

A-Level geography develops the skills and understanding learned at GCSE. The exams taken follow the AQA scheme of work. Through our curriculum students are enabled to explore the world and the different geographical issues within it. The specification explores current issues of local, national and global importance in contexts specific to different parts of the world. A-level geography introduces new content and approaches to geographical processes, systems, and ideas of place, scale and space. Students will complete the NEA, which is a piece of written work based on a geographical question from the course. They will also undertake fieldwork. This consists of a local day trip as well as a 2-night residential, where students undertake activities that relate to both human and physical geography.
