Assessment

All work is assessed according to four objectives based on developing ideas, recording information, analysis, and the ability to produce a personal response. Component 1 Personal investigation 60% 96 marks Personal investigation candidates develop work in response to an idea, theme, content or issue. Practical work is supported by 1000-3000 words. Component 2 Externally set assignment 40% 96 marks Create a clearly defined unit of work and sit a 15-hour controlled test based on starting points set by the exam board. Work will lead to a final piece or pieces.
