Course summary

Biologists study the natural world and all the loving things in it, from the largest mammals down to our very own microscopic DNA. Students will explore how animals and organisms work including humans, how we evolved, and the things that can make individuals sick or improve their health. Moving from GCSE to A level will allow students to deepen their understanding of what they thought they knew about the study of life. Year 12: Development of practical skills in Biology Foundations in Biology Exchange & Transpo Biodiversity, Evolution, and Disease Year 13: Development of practical skills in Biology Communication, Homeostasis & Energy Genetics, Evolution, and Ecosystems Biologists are at the forefront of stopping the spread of disease, tracking down natural resources, improving public health, animal care and conservation, and working out the true impact of things like pollution. Our students have gone on to pursue careers in medicine, nursing, biochemistry, midwifery, and physiotherapy.
