Course summary

This qualification is intended for learners who do not meet the entry requirements of the 2-year extended diploma (Level 3 Animal Management). Would you like the opportunity to work with different types of animals, from small to large, domesticated and exotic? Do you want to explore specialist sectors in the Animal Care Industry? Do you need to improve your English and maths grades to improve your chances of employment? Then this is the course for you. You will study the following aspects of animal management along with English, Maths and developing your study skills: Animal Biology Animal Welfare and Ethics Practical Animal Husbandry Animal Behaviour Animal Health and Diseases Work Experience in the Animal Sector If you have not already achieved a level 4 English and Maths GCSE, you will continue to work towards these qualifications at a level that is appropriate for you. You will either be studying Functional Skills from Entry 1 – Level 1 or be in a GCSE class.
