Course summary

Students study Route E. Paper 1 is a breadth study of Russia 1917-1991. Paper 2 is a depth study on the German Democratic Republic, 1949-90. Paper 3 is a depth study of the British Experience of Warfare, c1790-1918. Finally students undertake a Historical Enquiry for Unit 4 on the interpretations of the origins of World War One. Lessons are a mixture of text analysis, group discussion and debating in order to develop more enquiring and analytical minds.
