AS level Paper 1: Education with Methods in Context Paper 2: Culture and Identity with Research Methods A level Paper 1: Education with Theory and Methods Paper 2: Family and Beliefs in Society Paper 3: Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods A level Sociology will inspire you to think about and view the world from different perspectives. You will develop skills in critical thinking and learn to evaluate case studies and the work of sociologists. The key areas of study in Year 12 are family and education in the UK, together with sociological theory and research methods. This will be followed in Year 13 by the study of Beliefs in Society and Crime and Deviance. You will explore how power and control is exercised in our society; through culture, education and the criminal justice system. You will also investigate the inequalities in British society based on gender, class, ethnicity and age.
