Art and Design (Textiles)

Course summary

A Level Fashion and Textiles is ideal if you are interested in textile design (both fashion and interiors) and textile arts. You will be taught how to approach art and design analytically as research and investigation plays a key role in the course. However, the course also enables you to experience fashion and textiles first hand within a professional environment, working alongside visiting Textile and Fashion Designers. You will explore a wide variety of relevant techniques including silk screen printing, fabric dying and embellishment, machine embroidery, batik, devoré, fabric painting and repeat pattern. Curating your own independent fashion show, catwalk experiences and gallery settings will all form part of your assessed portfolio.
