Art and Design (Fine Art)
Course summary
This course is ideal for students with a strong interest in drawing and painting. You will develop your artistic skills eventually leading to specializing in a selected area through practical, hands-on lessons. During the two years, you will have multiple opportunities to exhibit work professionally in the local community and experience trips and guest speakers. The course will challenge your preconceptions of fine art and ask you to be open-minded and highly engaged in developing your artistic practice. Students in Fine art will work towards a diverse and extensive portfolio that develops multiple art skills, techniques, and processes. These skills range from photography for fine art, observational drawing, dry and wet mediums, and printmaking. Students will also gain key analytical skills when investigating artwork and other contextual sources relating to concepts. Progress into further study or employment in a creative arts career including but not limited to Gallery worker, illustrator, animator, Freelance artist, Design industry worker, Community art work, or Arts education.
