Assessment
Component 1: The first term is an exploration of different art techniques, workshops, and experimental work aimed at developing a broad range of skills and ideas. Alongside this, students study an Art History unit which supports the critical analysis element of the course. In the second term, students will begin their Personal Investigation in which they develop a response to a theme or an idea. All work produced during component 1 represents 60% of the A-level marks. The investigation is supported by a 1000 – 3000 word study. Component 2: An externally set assignment representing 40% of the marks at A Level. This consists of a 15-hour exam preceded by three months of preparation.
