Course summary

Whether it’s supporting elite athletes to reach their full potential, or introducing sport to a young person for the first time, with a career in sports you can play an important role in leading people to a healthy lifestyle. This course covers a wide range of subjects about sport and the human body and gets you ready for a wide range of related careers, including physiotherapy, sports centre management, personal training, and more. There are six core units as part of the Sport and Exercise Science Level 3 Extended Diploma program. The six core subjects are: - Anatomy - Physiology - Psychology - Research methods - Research project - Biomechanics In addition to the six core modules of the program, there are 12 specialist units, covering: - Exercise - Health and lifestyle - Fitness testing - Training and fitness - Sport and exercise - Massage - Sports nutrition - Sports injuries - Sports coaching - Practical individual and team sports - Applied sport and exercise psychology - Physiology - Work-based experience in sport
