Assessment

Component 1 is assessed through a written examination. You will study two set plays and analyse and evaluate the work of live theatre makers. Component 2, a practical unit, is examined in a live performance where you will present a performance of a devised piece (20 marks). This is assessed by your teachers and moderated by the exam board. Each performance must be accompanied by a series of supporting notes (40 marks). Component 3 is a practical exploration of three extracts each taken from a different play. The methodology of a prescribed practitioner must be applied to extract 3 which will be performed as a final assessed piece to a visiting examiner (worth 40 marks). Each performance must be accompanied by a reflective report (worth 20 marks).
