Component 1: Personal Investigation - Assessed in June. 60% of A Level Mark Students will produce a portfolio of work including at least 1 extended collection of work, or project, based on an idea, concept, or issue that demonstrates their ability to sustain work from initial ideas through to realization. They must be able to show evidence of their ability to research and develop ideas and link their work in a meaningful way to relevant critical/contextual materials. An extended related study of a minimum of 1000 words. Component 2: Externally Set Assignment - Assessed June. 40% of A Level Mark Students will be provided with examination questions from the exam board, they will then select 1 to develop into preparatory research work. Following the preparatory time, students will complete 15 hours of unaided, supervised time. In the 15 hours, students must produce a finished outcome or a series of related finished outcomes, informed by their preparatory work.
