Component 1 – Devising (Practical and Written) Devise and perform an original performance piece (20 marks) Written Portfolio (3000 words) (60 marks) Performer or designer routes available 80 marks in total—40% of A Level This component is marked by teachers and moderated by EDEXCEL. Component 2 – Text in Performance (Practical) A group performance/design realisation of one key extract from a performance text. A monologue or duologue performance/design realization from one key extract from a different performance text. 60 marks in total—20% of A Level This component is marked by an EDEXCEL Visiting Examiner. Component 3 – Theatre Makers in Practice (Written Exam) Practical exploration and study of two full play texts, one in the light of a theatre practitioner. Evaluation of Live Theatre performances. Written Examination: 2 hours 30 minutes 80 marks in total—40% of A Level Externally marked by EDEXCEL.
