Course summary

The IB DP Biology SL course is a rigorous but exciting 2-year program that allows you to get to grips with the very nature of Science in the natural world. Using inquiry and problem-based learning techniques you will learn with a hands-on approach how to question, research, design, and implement an experiment to collect data, process it, and then draw conclusions and find answers. Science is an international endeavor where information is communicated across national borders and this is reflected in the learning methods used, students will collaborate inside and outside of the classroom between themselves and with others overseas. Students will learn how to become critically aware of the ethical implications within the discipline and develop an appreciation of the possibilities and limitations of science and technology. The course is divided into 8 units learning about the living environment on a micro-to-macro scale.
