Course summary
You will gain skills and knowledge in media make-up including applying small ready-made prosthetic pieces and bald caps, postiche, theatrical make-up airbrushing, fashion and photographic make-up, creative style and dress hair, and face and body art. This qualification is approved and supported by HABIA, the standard-setting body for hair, beauty, nails, and spa qualifications. All 16-19-year-olds on full-time programs will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course until they complete their studies. Those who have already achieved a Level 2 Hair and Media Makeup, Beauty Therapy, or Hairdressing qualification are looking to specialize in the industry or gain an additional qualification.
