Course summary

Medical Science is the science of dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of disease. This qualification is designed for students who are interested in careers related to healthcare, medical research or laboratory work. The qualification covers key topic areas in health, physiology and disease, and will help students understand how scientific principles – especially from Biology and Chemistry – are applied in real scenarios. Following this course can lead to 2 types of qualification: The Certificate is equivalent to half an A-level, and would usually be completed in 1 year. The Diploma is equivalent to a full A-level, and would usually be completed over 2 years.
