These are all questions and more you will explore on this Physical Education course. Physical Education is a course taught in two separate strands and you will choose one to study. You can specialize in 'Sports Science' or 'Sport Studies', preparing you with a broad base of knowledge within the sporting industries across the sector. Some students will ultimately have a career pathway in mind. For those the specific pathway choice allows you to learn additional aspects that focus your learning. Students who pick the coaching and fitness strand will be expected to deliver some coaching and personal training sessions whereas the exercise science students will be expected to analyze performance and create psychological training programs. There is also the opportunity for you to complete a work placement and we can help you source these. Modules: Anatomy and Physiology - You will explore how the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems function and the fundamentals of the energy systems Sport Psychology - This unit covers the major psychological factors that can affect performers in sports and exercise environments and the interventions that can promote an appropriate mindset.
