Course summary

"History cannot give us a programme for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future." - Robert Penn Warren (poet, novelist, and literary critic 1905-1989). The History course is intended to develop powers of reasoning, analysis and expression and to promote a thorough understanding of modern societies. It is a subject which will help you to understand people and their attitudes, beliefs and behaviour.
