Assessment

35% PAPER 1 91 marks 2-hour written paper with both short and long answer questions 35% PAPER 2 91 marks 2-hour written paper with both short and long answer questions 30% PAPER 3 78 marks 2-hour structured questions. Also includes a 25-mark essay (one from a choice of two titles) Additionally, a separate endorsement of practical skills will be taken alongside the A Level (assessed by teachers). All pupils will collate a practical folder of the 12 required practicals, demonstrating competency in a range of skills. This is a pass/fall component of their A Level and many universities require a pass as part of their entry criteria for undergraduate science courses.
