Course summary

Students with A Level Geography have access to a wide range of career and higher education opportunities. You will develop a variety of transferable skills throughout the course. These include collecting, analysing and interpreting data (with the help of fieldwork) and communicating your findings in different ways, research and presentation skills, use of ICT, time management and developing different styles of writing including essays. An ability to work well with others and independently is crucial, and a confidence with ICT is useful. These skills are in great demand and are recognised by employers, Universities and Colleges as being of great value; the Russell Group (which represents 24 leading UK Universities including Oxford, Cambridge and Durham) lists Geography as one of only eight facilitating subjects that open a wider range of University options for students.
