Assessment

There are four exam papers taken at the end of the Upper Sixth. • Unseen Translation (33 per cent of A-level) Translation of passages of Latin prose and Latin verse into English • Comprehension/Composition (17 per cent of A-level) Either a prose composition or a prose comprehension passage • Prose Literature (25 per cent of A-level) Study of one or two Latin prose authors (eg Cicero and/or Tacitus) • Verse Literature (25 per cent of A-level) Study of one or two different genres of Latin poetry (eg Roman Epic and/or Roman Love Poetry)
