Course summary
Topics taught: Coastal landscapes, place, the water and carbon cycles, global connections, food insecurity and plate tectonics. Skills taught: This is an essay-based subject. Most exam questions ask the students to assess or evaluate an idea. Students therefore develop the ability to judge the validity of information, synthesis ideas together from multiple sources and draw substantiated conclusions based on research. 10% of the grade is based on the student’s utilisation of maths skills. They will use central tendency and advanced statistical tests to interpret data and they will map data using geographical information system software.
