Design and Technology (Product Design)

Course summary

The new Design Technology qualification is modern and relevant. Students learn about contemporary technologies, materials and CAD-CAM processes, as well as established practices, sustainability and design-related social and moral issues. The course is ideally suited to the student who enjoys problem solving, and has an emphasis on understanding and applying iterative design processes. Students will use their creativity and imagination to design and make prototypes that solve real and relevant problems, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. There is a strong element of applied Maths and Science in the course.
