Assessment

A-Level Mathematics consists of three externally examined papers and students must complete all assessment in May/June in any single year. Paper 1 – Pure Mathematics 1 (33.33% of the qualification) Written examination: 2 hours (calculator) 100 marks Paper 2 – Pure Mathematics 2 (33.33% of the qualification) Written examination: 2 hours (calculator) 100 marks Paper 3 – Applied Mathematics (33.33% of the qualification) Written examination: 2 hours (calculator) 100 marks The assessment comprises two sections: Section A – Statistics (50 marks) Section B – Mechanics (50 marks)
