The human mind is often thought of as the ultimate unexplored frontier. Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. Psychologists observe and conduct experiments to investigate the way people think, feel, act and interact. These findings are then applied in numerous fields including mental health, forensics, education, business, research and sport. Studying Psychology will enable you to develop skills of analysis, interpretation, evaluation and application, which are well-received by both universities and employers. Lessons are a vibrant mixture of debate, discussion, lectures, group work and practical work. Psychology is a relatively new discipline but has many overlaps with Biology and Medicine. Advances in neuroimaging techniques are enabling neuropsychologists to answer questions around consciousness, perception and emotion. Psychology is an exciting and broad subject which suits those with a curious and critical mind.
