Assessment

The examinations will measure how students have achieved the following assessment objectives: - AO1: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of scientific ideas, processes, techniques and procedures. AO2: Apply knowledge and understanding of scientific ideas, processes, techniques and procedures in a theoretical context. In a practical context, when handling qualitative and quantitative data. AO3: Analyse, interpret and evaluate scientific information, ideas and evidence. To make judgements and reach conclusions; develop and refine practical design and procedures. Paper 1 -2 hour written examination; 105 marks (short and long answer questions) 35% of A-level. Paper 2 -2 hour written examination; 105 marks (short and long answer questions) 35% of A-level. Paper 3 -2 hour written examination; 90 marks (40 marks of questions on practical techniques and data analysis; 20 marks of questions testing across the specification; 30 marks of multiple choice). 30% of A-level Coursework: None
