Paper 1: Computer Systems This section looks at what a computer system is, how it works and how data is transmitted across networks. It also looks at the legal, ethical and social implications of technology. Paper 2: Algorithms and Programming This section is more theoretical and conceptual, looking at problems and breaking them down into algorithms. Expect to explore how to ‘think’ like a computer! How can abstraction and breaking a problem apart be used to solve it? You will also look at some standard algorithms and learn how to program them. Coursework: Programming Project A Software Development project where you will investigate a computing problem and create a software application, for example, a fitness tracker or educational game. You will have complete freedom to choose a scenario that ties in with your interests and be able to create your application in any OCR-approved programming language (such
