Assessment

Paper 1 (50%) Listening, reading, writing, translation into English and into French/Spanish Paper 2 (20%) Two essays based on a literary text and a film Paper 3 (30%) Oral exam: discussion of a card based on topics studied above, 2-minute presentation on their IRP followed by a further 10 minutes discussion on the topic. Students also study a book and a film in the language and complete an independent research project (IRP) in Upper Sixth on a topic of their choice. The scope for this is broad but it must be rooted in the culture of the language studied.
