Assessment

At A Level, students follow the Edexcel specification. This is a linear course, assessed at the end of two years of study. Lower Sixth Autumn term – The Carbon Cycle and Energy Security – Globalisation Spring term – Coastal Landscapes and Change – Diverse Places Summer term – Fieldwork at an FSC Centre in the UK (5 days) Non-examined assessment (NEA): Independent Investigation - a geographical enquiry of your choice. The outcome will be a 3000-4000 word report, worth 20% of the overall A Level. Upper Sixth Autumn term – The Water Cycle and Water Insecurity – Superpowers Spring term – Migration, Identity and Sovereignty – Tectonic HazardsSummer term – Revision and examination practice including a specific focus on the three synoptic themes within the compulsory specification content areas: – Players – Attitudes and actions – Futures and uncertainties
