Assessment
The English Literature A Level consists of three components: two externally assessed examinations and one non-examined assessment component that is internally assessed by the centre and externally moderated by OCR. Exam 1: 2 hours, 30 minutes (60 marks) - 40% of total A Level Drama and Poetry Pre-1900 -Shakespeare -Drama and Poetry Pre-1900 -(Closed text) Exam 2: 2 hours, 30 minutes (60 marks) - 40% of total A Level Comparative and Contextual Study -Close reading (unseen) -Comparative and Contextual essay -(Closed text) Non-Examined Assessment (One critical or re-creative piece with commentary based on one text; One essay based on two linked texts) - 20% of total A Level (40 marks) Component: Literature Post-1900 -Critical piece OR re-creative writing piece with commentary -Comparative essay
