Assessment
The course is linear, so there are no modules, but the examination is as follows: Paper 1 Dynamic Landscapes and Physical Systems and Sustainability: Includes short open, open response and resource-linked questions. The examination includes 12-mark and 20-mark extended writing questions: Two hours and fifteen minutes (30% of A level) Paper 2 Human Interactions, Systems and Geopolitics: The examination includes 12-mark and 20-mark extended writing questions: Two hours and fifteen minutes (30% of A level) Paper 3 Geographical Debates/Synoptic: The examination includes short open, open responses and resource-linked questions. The examination includes 8-mark, 18-mark and 24-mark extended writing questions, which are based on a geographical issue within a place-based context that links to the three synoptic themes and is rooted in two or more of the compulsory content areas.
