A Level Economics is a linear course with three papers at the end of two years. Papers 1 and 2 are each weighted 35% of the final qualification whilst Paper 3 represents 30% of the final qualification. Each paper carries 100 marks. ■ Paper 1: Markets and Business Behaviour is a 2-hour Microeconomics paper ■ Paper 2: The National and Global Economy is a 2-hour Macroeconomics paper ■ Paper 3: Microeconomics and Macroeconomics is a 2-hour synoptic paper In addition to multiple choice questions, short answer questions and data response questions students will be expected to draw upon a range of mathematical techniques and integrate graphical interpretations of theories into persuasively written, evaluative, essays.
