Assessment

The course is structured into four ‘themes’ and consists of three externally examined papers. Pupils are introduced to core business knowledge, which is applied to business contexts to develop an understanding of how businesses work as well as business strategies, opportunities and issues in themes 3 and 4. Paper 1 (35% of A level): themes 1 and 4 Paper 2 (35% of A level): themes 2 and 3 Paper 3 (30% of A level): Investigating a business in a competitive environment. All papers are 2-hour long examinations and in Paper 3, pupils are required to apply their knowledge and understanding from themes 1, 2, 3 and 4.
