Entry Requirements

Minimum I/GCSE Grade 8 on the 9-1 scale To commence an A Level course in mathematics we would expect students to have obtained at least a grade 7, but ideally a grade 8 or 9. It is essential that students enjoy mathematics, including algebra and problem-solving, and that they are highly motivated and hard working: A Level mathematics is not an easy option and there is a significant increase in difficulty from (I)GCSE. At the beginning of the Lower Sixth, all students are tested on basic algebra and number skills to make sure there is a solid foundation on which to build towards the A Level content.
