Assessment

The A-level material is covered as a two-year course designed to highlight connections between the topics and to reinforce and extend learning. Practical skills are developed throughout the course and assessed as part of the written papers. The assessment takes the form of three 2-hour papers: Paper 1: Particles and Quantum Phenomena, Mechanics, Waves, Electricity and Periodic Motion Paper 2: Fields, Further Mechanics, Nuclear Physics and Thermal Physics Paper 3: Practical Skills and Astrophysics
