Course summary
This course is for students who love reading and enjoy deconstructing the technical aspects of literary texts; relish debating ideas and arguments, both verbally and in writing and enjoy constructing informed arguments in cohesive essays; and who want to develop their understanding of the human experience. Students will read widely from independently set texts and those that students have selected for themselves; engage critically and creatively with a substantial body of texts; develop and effectively apply knowledge of literary analysis and evaluation; explore the contexts of chosen texts and others' interpretations of them; undertake independent and sustained studies to deepen an appreciation and understanding of English literature, including its changing traditions.
